PTO  Purpose

The PTO is a group of parent and teacher volunteers working together to support our school, enhance the learning experience for all children, and strengthen the community bond of our neighborhood school. The PTO sponsors many events throughout the year. These events include educational activities and social activities that bring the community together.

PTO Membership
A person can become a member of the Harvey Oaks PTO by making a $20 donation. All members of PTO receive one free copy of the Buzz Book (Student Directory). Parents are invited to join at the Ice Cream Social at the beginning of the year. Families coming in once the school year has started will still receive information about PTO upon their arrival from the school secretary.

Your $20 donation makes it possible for our PTO not to fundraise. Instead, we have events such as Book Fairs and the PTO Carnival. Our PTO has always felt strongly about not sending our children out to fundraise. We use these other methods to help support our students and staff.

What does PTO do for our students and teachers?

The following are just a few ways PTO donations have helped our  students and teachers: assemblies, author/illustrator/artist visits, Buzz Books, treats for classroom parties, meals for conferences, cash to teachers to assist setting up classrooms at the beginning of the year, Read-a-Thon, Book Fairs, 5th Grade Party, and restaurant nights.
